come out from among them

You are so sweet sometimes,
so much so it makes me feel like both our hearts are intertwined.
I never knew a love like that could ever exist,
a love so overwhelming, a love that consumes me in its entirety.
You appeared today,
like a dream-like cartoon character, nothing like a rabbit lazing amongst its hay.
With a flower and genuine sincerity,
what can I say that might make you commit infidelity?
But come what may,
I'm never stepping into a dungeon of pretentious words and controversies again.

Hello spiderman. (:
And the sun will set for you.

keep that feeling

Let me just sit here and ramble for a few minutes since I haven't done so for ages.
It has been exactly a month ago when I came back from a short getaway trip from Tioman Island - my second time there. But it was incredulous. I couldn't remember a single thing about the island up to the point when we got to our respective rooms, or rather the modern kampung huts. But the flashbacks and imagery that came after only consisted of trees, fresh air, resorts made of wood, and more wood. Absolutely nothing else. So it's totally like a brand new experience in an unfamiliar little island.

The journey there was very taxing. First of all, we had to take a coach all the way to somewhere beyond Mersing, what with the 3 hours of bumpy ride. Then from there, we had to take a freezing 2 hour ferry ride to the island. When we got out from the ferry, I swore some of us had little ice cubes stuck on our hair. Believe it, or not. There was a storm the moment we set foot on the little island, how unfortunate. It was nearing evening and everyone was cold, tired and hungry (we didn't have breakfast and lunch). As we waited for what seemed like half an hour or longer for our transportation to the resort, fatigue creeped onto our backs like stubborn parasites. Anyhow, we got to our resort and went right to the restaurant after checking in to our rooms. The young Mr Yeo showed a little attitude to the waiters cos' all of us were really hungry, and the chefs were taking what seemed like centuries to cook the food when there weren't many guests around. Okay, it is a little exaggerated but hell yeah, the meal cost-ed a bomb. Whether it was because of our attitudes or the really expensive fish, who knows? As twilight was dawning upon us, we couldn't really do any sea sports for the day. Hence, we gave the place a quick recce.

There were numerous homeless kittens and being an animal lover, young Miss Yeo couldn't turn her back away from one of the dirty looking kittens that was tailing us. Looking at how thin it was, we fed it a little coffee maker before we headed for the restaurant. Well, that was all we could do for it having no food ourselves. But that poor little kitten stood loyally outside our room and tadah, *heartache* when we saw it waiting for us after we returned from brunch, erm.. dinner. But bestie Qi didn't want the kitten no more so we had no choice but to try to lead the kitten somewhere else. While dear dear and I were on our way to the tennis court (he wasn't my dear dear then =P), probably the sugars from the coffee maker spurred the little kitten on. It began running alongside us, determined on following us wherever we went. But boyfriend and I got somewhat lost and after walking round and round in circles with the kitten running after us, the effect of that little energy that kitten had from the coffee maker went away. It got tired and couldn't catch up with us anymore. How I want a pet myself. So the 6 of us played tennis under the judgement of up above, the moon and the stars. I fared pretty badly, no doubt about that. But hey, at least I managed to catch a few difficult shots! -sinks into self denial- Rarr. Hmm, and something about the twilight hours in Tioman Island is that, you've got absolutely nothing to do. Unless you're planning to waste away your hours in the game room, then kudos to you. Otherwise, you can actually take the opportunity to build the bond with people you're not that familiar to or simply play some indoor card games.

Bright and sunny! That marked a great start to the second day of our trip. We went to an offshore island for a one hour snorkel. But sad to say, there weren't a great variety of fishes. But there were hell lots of sea urchins, clown fishes, blue fishes with yellow stripes (no idea what they are called), and tons of black fishes. Yeah, my knowledge of fishes is close to zero. Anyway the fishes were almost within our touch. They were practically everywhere. Shuming was a little unlucky because a school of black fishes attacked her and there were 3 punctured holes on her finger. As her blood stained the seawater, some fishes got really excited and they began leaping out from the water. Yeah what a 'spectacular' sight. I was half expecting a great white shark to jump out at me any moment. We took a boat back to the shore, got first aid for her, and had a really sumptuous lunch. After that, it was jungle trekking time. I didn't expect the trek to be dangerous at all, so did the others. And that was why all of us wore slippers I guess. If not for boyfriend I would have sustained some pretty bad injuries. A lesson learnt.

Two BIG No-Nos To Take Note of Before Trekking in a Rainforest
1. Do NOT wear slippers
2. Do NOT forget to arm yourself with mosquito repellent, otherwise you can immerse yourself into a blood donation charity drive
I really wasn't expecting to step into a dense primary rainforest. Decomposed matter on ground layer, super high level of humidity, branches and leaves right in front of your face, cobwebs, symphony of cicadas, crown trees with huge buttress roots, and tons of mosquitoes. The only comforting thing about this trek was the sound of the waterfall, our 'summit'. Imagine the joy we had when we got there. Now I truly understand how humans who conquered the summit of Mount Everest felt. That sense of satisfaction must have been 100 times of ours having almost come face to face with whatever which is up above.

And that pretty much summed up our weekend trip. Boyfriend's grandmother passed away recently and I've got a funeral to attend so, till then~
