Bags t-shirts airplane

This is it. The end of exams. I'm really looking forward to it but then again, I have a driving test at 4.30pm. I've failed Advanced Theory once, and I don't wanna fail again! Anyway, I'm gonna fly to London tomorrow morning at 1130hrs, transit in Brunei(T.T), stopover at Dubai(DUH!), and finally Heathrow Airport at about 2000hrs(SIN). I'm kinda excited but also feeling abit sian 1/2 prolly due to post-exams "depression". Haa. Before I start studying for driving and pack my stuff, you guys keep the tags and comments coming in okay! If I get to use the hostel's computer, the first thing I'll do is to update my BLOG. So..

Stay Tuned.

P.S: Don't miss me!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PEIQIN IN ADVANCE!

black woman

WARNING: The below content does not contain any ethical considerations and the author is only typing from the tip of her tiny pea brain so please leave if you are easily offended. You have been warned.

While I was waiting for Dad outside Mount Elizabeth Hospital taking in putrid smoke from cigarettes after tightening my braces which is apparently more and more agonizing every visit due to my overcrowded lower teeth and problematic jaw & gums (If you can say this sentence in one breath, you are longwinded!), I saw this Saudi woman completely covered in black cloth from the top of her head to the bottom of her foot. The only part of her body that I can see are her eyes. I have seen countless women who are dressed in this way while working in Changi Airport but I really wonder who could actually be so ridiculous as to come up with such a rule: Islamic women should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; they should not display their zeenah (charms, or beauty and ornaments) and that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their zeenah except to their husbands, their fathers and that they should not strike their feet so as to draw attention to their hidden zeenah.

I was quite shocked to find out that this rule originated from Qu`ran and he actually meant dressing modestly but the Muslims change it in such a way that dressing modestly = not showing any of your skin in order not to attract lustful gazes from men. And so, the women can only show their eyes to men when they are in the public. But imagine if you're completely covered with cloth in Singapore, wouldn't it be attracting more attention? Maybe this is one of their religious principles and I'm glad I don't belong to any religious groups cos' I might turn their rules and practices upside down. Oops.

fashion clashes?

Hi-ho people!

My Global Business Environment paper is over! It was a relatively easy paper compared to all the other papers that I've sat for so far. And now there's a really pressing problem.

Due to the !@#$%^&*( exam schedule, I don't really have much time to shop for stuff that I have to get for the London trip (5 days left). Right now, I need a windbreaker really badly! I combed Orchard last Friday with boyfriend and we went to shops like Roxy, Quicksilver, Nike, Adidas, Sports Shops, OG, etc. But there were no suitable windbreakers for me. Their windbreakers are simply too BIG or incorporated with boyish colours. As I've anticipated this problem, I made a trip to Jurong East's Wintertime shop but found no suitable windbreakers for me except.. the one that Patricia bought. I told myself that I couldn't buy it! FASHION CLASH! But on the other hand, not many retail outlets in Singapore sell windbreakers of the correct fit for girls(petite size) and it will be kinda difficult to find one especially for me. I know that Patricia won't really like it if I buy the same windbreaker as her and I don't really like buying the same stuff as others as well. But IF I still can't find any suitable windbreaker for myself within these 3 days, I have to jolly well freeze in London.

So.. how?

you are appreciated.

Hey peeps, thank you for all your tags and comments! Love reading comments left by you guys and I really appreciate it. =)

It can be pretty exhausting having 3 exam papers consecutively for 3 days. Well, initially I thought getting them done and over with is fine. But I'm so deprived of sleep now I can't blog properly. And I couldn't concentrate during exams as well, practically yawning throughout 2hr papers. I prefer papers on alternate days now. Nevertheless, we have 5 papers in total, so there's 3 more to go. Fyi, services marketing paper today was not worth studying. It's a TOTAL waste of time. I should've used the time to catch up on sleep, arghh I've incurred opportunity cost.

Correct Info.

Okay sorry peeps, the previous information provided was WRONG. It seems like the police in London thwarted a mass murder by uncovering terrorist plots to blow up over 20 airplanes. Threat level is Red right now and they added a few new rules in their airports which I'm not very happy about.

1. Ban on carry-on luggage, including purses too big to fit in a passenger's pocket. (I can't bring my pouch into the plane)
2. Passengers are allowed to take personal items such as their passport, eyeglasses and cash - so long as they are in see-through plastic bags. (I need a translucent bag to substitute my black, opaque money pouch)
3. Electronic key chains are not allowed as carry-ons, and all electric or battery-powered items, including laptops, cellphones, ipods, must be in checked, not carry-on, baggage. (Few years ago I was only told to switch off handphone/camera when the plane is taking off plus plus, can't take pictures when we're in transit anymore)
4. Any liquids, including beverages, hair gels, and lotions are prohibited from being carried on the airplane. (No more water bottle & cooling mist for my face!)

Yes, I understand that all these new rules are implemented for a tighter security control and I shouldn't be bitching about it, but these rules still suck anyway cos' my bagpack now proves to be too small to contain these extra items. I must find a way to squeeze them all in.

london terrorist attacks

I hope our London trip will not be cancelled. A flight from London to U.S was under terrorists' attack yesterday I think. 68 people died or something. You guys can check it out and tell me. We're kinda out of luck. Our school planned a London trip last year and it was cancelled because of bombings as well. =(

travel thoughts

Singapore is magnificent with its all-year round summer season. There are no natural disasters, no riots and demonstrations with great studying and working environment. But the education system here is forcing so many young kids to be overly stressed up. I'm not a young kid anymore but sometimes when I get so frazzled in this small little city and its stifling weather, I feel like giving myself a short little break by escaping to other countries and exploring the bizzare lights, strange sounds and eccentric people. Perhaps I'm daydreaming. This is not gonna be possible because Dad will fuss over the applying of Visa, insurance and other travel procedures. It's also not possible for me to travel alone - I'm a girl.
I wish I could be freed and that there is someone who could do these with me:

-travel the world
-climb greatest mountains & trek tropical rainforests
-uncover animals in native lands
-dive in the serenity of blue calm oceans
-experience the powerful Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
-white water rafting at rapids
-relax by the beaches during sunsets
-meet new people
-shop for clothes/unique souvenirs

I just wanna find someone, it can be anyone.

new blogskin!

Yay! I've changed to a new blogskin finally. Actually I wanted a really gothic blogskin and I managed to find one but it's not really gothic, kinda ghastly. But I think it'll scare the hell outta all of you so I didn't use it. See, so nice of me! I settled on this skin since I can't really find gothic ones and I couldn't really create my own layout due to my lack of knowledge on HTMLs. Haha and yes, I've received lots of feedback about my long and never-ending blog URL but I can't think of anything else, so I'm gonna leave it as it is.

By now, I should've packed my room and be prepared for the upcoming exams but I don't know why is it that I'm so unlucky. Of all times, the girl's thing has to come today. I lay in bed for the whole day and practically wasted my time away, trying to ease the throbbing cramps by rubbing my stomach continuously. It's really tough to be a girl.

Kbox

OMG. For the first time in my life, I visited this place - Kbox. My gosh, I feel so ulu. And I can't accept the fact that most of my friends who go shopping with me often, actually didn't ask me to go Kbox at all. Initially, I didn't want to go with my classmates cos' I have piano lesson at 6pm today and that I probably couldn't make it home on time. But after we had lunch at IKEA, it was only about 1pm, so I decided to go to Clementi's Kbox with them. We became siaos in there, and started jumping on their bouncy-cushiony seats. Haa. Poor black leather seats. And I didn't know that our class rep was so good in rapping! Ahahaha. It's actually a little exaggerated. =x Nevertheless, had fun in there but throat's a little sore.

After spending 9 days in London, (5th of Sept) when I come back to Singapore, I will have to prepare for my ITP attachment at Zoo the next day. My poor boy. I won't have time for him. =( All this while I've been busy with projects, tests, interviews and I guess I haven't spend any quality time with him. Babe, I promise I'll make it up to you!

I can't open my eyes any longer. Yes, I went to tighten my braces just now. It's painful!! ROAR! And my blog is gonna be ROARING soon because Singapore Idol Jonathan Leong just tagged on my tagboard! Thank you very much again Jon! Check out Singapore Idol on Channel 5 when you guys have time and remember to support Jon! Haha! With this, I can't keep my eyes open any longer. Bath time chop chop!
