the season for bonding

Firstly, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! May you guys stay healthy, happy, merry, and gay everyday! As much as I was dreading for the day when the Zodiac of Rat rules the world once again and snatches the spotlight away from other animals, I actually find myself enjoying the new year. I've finally recovered from two weeks of incessant coughing and yes, new year goodies. The five boxes of pineapple tarts and barbequed pork lying on the table were just too tempting for me to be able to put up with much resistance. Ahh, this reminded me of a reality show called Temptation Island - shown on television years ago. Gosh, this is all getting so random. Okay and back to the subject of lunar new year. It is a sad year indeed cos' the shophouse my maternal grandad once owned, which held all my childhood memories was sold away. That was where weekly gatherings were held every week for the huge family every sunday, the place where bro together with the cousins and I used to hang out for soccer matches or catching sessions at playgrounds, the place where the aunts will cook dinner (fyi, all hakka dishes) and the aroma was simply intoxicating, the place with fabulous wanton noodles from the hawker centre opposite the shop, the place where there were lion dances every year and I'll try to touch their butts everytime despite being scared and not knowing that it was sinful to do so then, the place which led us to our favourite 7-11 store every week before we hit for home, the 7-11 store where we would steal gummy bears and coca cola candies for 'sampling', those times when we would occupy the backyard of the shophouse and play the dog 'n' bone game, when someone fell while playing and went home crying... I hate goodbyes. =(

On a lighter note, I've finally met up with the primary school friends on the third day of new year. Friends whom I haven't seen for almost a decade. And luckily the turnout wasn't that bad, I'm so glad that all those sms-es were well worth the extra expense.

Note: The guy in black is 2metres tall [GIANT], it's not that the rest of them are short.

After the dinner at Fish & Co, we went to Indochine to have some drinks. I ordered a flaming lamborghini and thank you Aayush for pointing out to me that my straw had melted. I guess it would've stayed in my stomach for the rest of my life if I downed the drink, seeing that plastic is a non-biodegradable material. But anyway, thank you to each and every one of you 6D-ians who managed to make your presence felt for this gathering regardless of how late some of you were. I really appreciate the efforts made. It was a wonderful night.

The next few days of the new year were purely getting more red packets, working, gambling and losing, and and I managed to catch The Kite Runner before the slots for the movie ended. It made me hate the Talibans more than ever what with some of their ridiculous sexist rules and regulations. Yeah, show up on my doorsteps and shoot me if you can. Anyway, I realise that I've been spending lots of money on friends' 21st birthdays, you guys know what to do when I turn 21 at the end of the year right? =D The secondary school friends and I were celebrating Desmond's 21st birthday at Northvale Condo last Saturday and it was crazy. There was a video reminiscing about our past or rather Desmond's secondary school days and it was pretty funny especially the video on Valentine's Day, taken years ago. And after dinner, there was a phototaking session (I wonder if I'll ever get the photos) followed by a secret plan to throw all the February babies into the water. I was plotting with the others about tossing Qi into the water since I haven't had my revenge back in Thailand. But after hurling her in, she pulled me together with her. You're so cruel Qi, but regardless of that, you're still my BFF!

The day after which was yesterday, I met up with the trio for a visit to the Zoo finally. And, pictures speak more than a thousand words.

Let's LOU HEI, for the new year and beyond!

The 6 white little fluffy thingies at the left side of this picture are the dead rats for the King Cobra. =(

"I feel so lonely."

"Let's share the love, mate!"

Impressive road march. I'm wondering how many clicks they've already covered..

And lastly, our goodbyes to Ah Meng. The tomb is located beside the Garden with a View, a very peaceful spot to place her in. All in all, it was a very tiring day as we combed every exhibit of the Zoo with our legs. We were eating like hungry ghosts during dinner and boy was the seafood yummy and cheap! Anyway, one thing the trio has in common is that they really love making fun of me. One good example: they told me to get on a particular bus back to the train station, knowing that I have no idea what the bus number was cos' I was too engrossed playing with the digi cam. Then one-by-one they slowly backed away until I was the only one left with the crowded queue and they only told me that it wasn't our bus when I was about to board it. -_- How evil. But it's alright, I still love you guys despite the little flaw three of you possess. SO please face four walls and start repenting now! =P

A sudden change of mood but I'm pretty saddened by the fact that I haven't accomplished much in my life.
i never knew roses smell so lovely
