A few days ago before some colleagues knocked off from work, they wished the rest of us a happy deepavali with that indian-ish accent which sent everyone else laughing and lots of mimicking after that. Okay, just try pronouncing deepavali (dee-par-var-lee), input a little indian accent and a head shake from left-to-right and vice versa. There you go. I can't believe I'm a racist even when I love their thosai and teh tarik..

I was planning to leave the office no later than 8pm yesterday when Alva told me she had invoices to do. So I stayed back a little while thinking that it couldn't take more than 5 minutes. But much to my dismay (as usual), she had to print 150 pages of invoices - 3 sets. It was already 9pm and if I left her in the lurch, I bet she would still be struggling to finish her work at 11pm. So I did lots of photocopying for her and accumulated paper cuts while she manual-fed the printer. After much hassle, we left at 9.45pm with empty stomachs and weary bodies. Then, there was something massive blocking our path. **Please do not try this at home.

Mouths totally hanging, we pondered over the cause of this unfortunate accident. But I reckoned the driver was drunk. While we were calculating the amount of damage the truck incurred, I realised that fuel was leaking like a running tapwater at the bottom of the vehicle. I cautioned Alva and we decided that we'd rather risk getting knock down by oncoming cars than bursting into flames.
Seeing that it was already almost 10pm, we made a unanimous decision to eat at the market nearby our office. Yeah it's pretty interesting eating at the place where a festival is brewing. We were outnumbered and all the times throughout dinner, there were lots of cat-callings and wolf-whistlings while they cheered in triumph for their day. Fyi, the office I'm working in is located at Little India.
